How the character looked with standard skin texture from DAZ and no changes to any settings after I used the Studio materials.
Now go to DAZ/Studio and look in surfaces.
The only changes you need to make are to add the new ambient map via the drop down for color and change the strength to 100%. You may choose to lower the strength once you have done an initial test render of your subject
Once you make this change something scary will happen to your subject. Don't worry! The black background on your map will pull the texture back in line when you do your render.

One thing you will have to "play" with is colors and the percentage of ambient you want to use depending on the effect your looking for. Colors tend to fade using this technique so you may need to go with darker colors than you expect or change colors all together.
For this render the only material changes were to the addition of the ambient map and changing ambient strength to 100%. Lighting was one white spot at 80%.
